  Pastor Timothy Bessent Sr., a beloved figure in the spiritual landscape of Camden  County, Georgia, embodies a life devoted to faith, family, and community service.  Born and raised in the heart of Camden  County, specifically in the city of Woodbine,  Pastor Bessent's roots run deep within his hometown.                   He received his education through the esteemed Camden County School System, where his formative years laid the groundwork for his future endeavors.  At the center of Pastor Bessent's life is his unwavering commitment to his family. He is married to his cherished wife, Cynthia, who stands beside him with unwavering support as they journey together to fulfilling God's purpose for their lives. As a proud father and grandfather, Pastor Bessent treasures the bonds he shares with his family, cherishing their closeness and the love that binds them together.    With over three decades of ministry experience, Pastor Bessent's journey in service to God and the community has been marked by steadfast dedication and a profound message of hope. Ordained in 2005, he has tirelessly spread the gospel, touching the lives of many with his testimony of God's deliverance and grace. His role as Senior Pastor at the Camden Avenue Church of God provides him with a platform to share his message of faith and redemption, guiding congregants towards a deeper understanding of God's love.    Beyond the walls of his church, Pastor Bessent is an active participant in his community,  demonstrating a deep-seated passion for youth empowerment and social justice. His advocacy for young boys led to the establishment of a non-profit boys mentoring organization, a testament to his commitment to nurturing the next generation. His dedication to community service and advocacy garnered him the esteemed position of  President of the NAACP of Camden County, where he is currently serving his second term where he advocates for equity and social justice. 

 In addition to his leadership within the NAACP, Pastor Bessent lends his expertise to various boards and organizations within the community, including serving on the advisory board to the District Attorney's office and the Camden Board of Education  Steering Committee. His multifaceted involvement underscores his holistic approach to effecting positive change in the lives of those around him.  Pastor Bessent's impact extends far beyond his local community, as evidenced by his prolific preaching engagements at conferences, conventions, and revivals throughout the  Southeastern United States. His ability to communicate the word of God with simplicity and clarity has resonated with audiences, drawing souls closer to experiencing the transformative power of God's love.  Rooted in his faith and nurtured under the mentorship of Bishop Arthur Dawson Jr.,  Pastor Timothy Bessent Sr. continues to heed the call to serve, inspiring others to fulfill the great commission. As he embarks on his new role as Pastor at Camden Avenue  Church of God, Pastor Bessent remains steadfast in his commitment to sharing the gospel and uplifting those in need, embodying the timeless message found in Matthew  28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
